Shillong, October 14: Due to incessant rain that occurred in the last few days continuously in South Garo Hills District the wood road bridge at Rongdik River that connect Baghmara and Siju was washed away by flashed flood last night.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District Mr AM Sangma told SP News Agency that the road wooden bridge at Rongdik was washed away by flashed flood on Friday Night this road bridge connect Siju and Baghmara. This is the main road that connects more than fifty villages on both sides.
The PWD department has to take emergency work so that the people reside in thus villages will not suffer, this is the only road bridge that connect the people of Siju area and Baghmara in South Garo Hills District.
