Shillong, May 17: Achik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) sent written compliant to the Superintendent of Police Kamrup District Assam regarding physical assault on mentally ill person Shri. Teseng R. Marak at Hahim Bazar.
The leaders of the Achik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) Organization, has brought to the attention of the SP of Kamrup District Assam with disturbing incident that occurred on l6th May 2025 at around 3:30 PM at Hahim Bazar.
The organisation ACHIK mention in the complaints that It has been reported that Mr. Hemonthá Rabha and Mr. Opinash Rabha physically assaulted Mr. Teseng R. Marak, , a resident of Rangolpara.
The organisation stated that Mr. Teseng R. Marak is a mentally ill individual who is vulnerable and in need of care and protection. The assault inflicted upon him brutal and has caused grievous injuries to the victim.
Such an act of violence against a mentally ill person is not only inhumane but also a serious offense under the Bharatiya Sanhita Nyaya 2023 and relevant protective legislations for persons with disabilities.
ACHIK earnestly request the SP of Kamrup District to take immediate cognizance of this matter, initiate a fair and thorough investigation, and ensure that the culprits are booked and prosecuted as per the law of the land.
