Shillong, August 27: The Major General Bipin Bakshi, VSM ADG, NCC NER Dte called on Shri Sarbanada Sonowal , Chief Minister of Assam at Guwahati. They discussed various aspects like raising of new Bn at Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon, enhanced Incentives for NCC Cadets and a forthcoming Sailing expedition by NCC on River Brahmaputra.
The ADG apprised the CM about first ever Brahmaputra Sailing expedition and accorded invitation to CM as the chief guest for the Flagging In Ceremony on 26 Oct 2019.
He was also briefed about the expansion plans of NCC and regarding the new set of awards, extending existing Bir Chalarai awards to more number of cdts , units and ANOs.The Concept note for 6 multi disciplinary youth activity centres at 6 places in Assam were also explained to the CM.
The CM assured the Gen Offr that all assistance will be accorded by the State. He, an NCC Cadet himself in school days , deliberated on the need to improve the visibility of NCC in Assam and shared his personal experiences as a NCC cadet, as he brought out the rigorous training he received, which has gone a long way in shaping him.
