Shillong, Nov 03: The Commissionerate of Food Safety (Health & Family Welfare Deptt), Meghalaya has launched Online Licensing or Registration of Food Business Operator (FBO’s) in the remaining of nine Districts of the State.
It may be recalled that Online Licensing or Registration was first launched in two Districts of East Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills way back in 2014, under Food Licensing & Registration System (FLRS) platform developed by the FSSAI.
However, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has now launched its cloud based upgraded new Food Safety and Compliance online platform called the Food Safety and Compliance System (FoSCoS) replacing the Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS). The new IT platform FoSCoS offers Licensing, Registration, Inspection and Annual Return modules.
FoSCoS essentially has flows similar to the FLRS, so that the users have convenience in migrating to FoSCoS from FLRS. The Food Business Operator (FBO’S) of the 2(two) Districts of East Khasi Hills & West Garo Hills can use their same User ID /Passwords for all purposes.
All new Food Business Operator applying for Food Licence or Registration in the State can access the Portal (https://foscos.fssai.gov.in), create their User ID/Password, log in with the same and apply for Licence/Registration.
