All shops in Mawbah, Jhalupara, Nongmynsong and Polo market area shall remain closed 2 days

Shillong, May 10: Whereas, reports have been received from the Incident Commanders that market areas of Mawbah, Jhalupara, Nongmensong and Polo are not following the protocols, despite regulation on opening of shops, and strict instructions that people should move out only for essential purposes.

The Deputy Commissioner mention it was noticed that many are not complying to the protocols of the Health Department, And that many shops were seen to be crowded, and there are still some persons who are not wearing masks or observing physical distancing with due diligence And it was also observed that people are moving from one locality to another despite restrictions.

This laxity is a cause of concern in view of the ongoing fast spread of Covid-19, Hence exercise of the powers conferred under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 for containment of any possible spread of COVID-19, all shops and establishments in the locality of Mawbah, Jhalupara, Nongmynsong and Polo market area shall remain closed on the 11th & 12th May, 2021.

The Superintendent of Police, Incident Commmanders and Executive Magistrates will ensure compliance to the order, and meticulously plan for staggered reopening along with widespread publicity so that there is discipline in the following of protocols said the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi District, Miss Isawanda Laloo.
