As the Chairman of Mebaai Group, Mr AL Hek has generated employment for the society

Shillong, Nov 08: Meghalaya Minister for Health, Arts and Culture, Information and Public Relations, etc Shri A.L Hek attended the Kolkata Retail Summit 2019 organised by the Retailers Association of India (RAI) at the Park Hotel, Kolkata on 7th November, 2019. The Minister was accompanied by Shri Christopher Rani, CEO and  Founder of CR Projects and Chairman, RAI, East Region.

The event brings together retail stakeholders in Eastern India on a common platform. RAI also came to Meghalaya and the first edition of the Shillong Retail Forum was held last year, on 14thDecember 2018 at the Shillong Golf Club, Shillong.

Mr A.L Hek attended as the Special Guest of the event and the key highlight of the summit was the insightful one-on-one interaction between the Minister with Jimmy Tangree, Station Head of 91.9 Friends FM that kept the audience captivated.

As the Chairman of Mebaai Group, Mr A.L. Hek has generated employment for the society. He has set up an Indigenous Wellness Centre where the tribal people of the state can provide indigenous health care merging with expertise from Kerela for Ayurvedic treatments.

One of his more prominent achievements is the setting up of the Hawkers Free Zone Market for the hawkers in the streets of the Shillong Golf Club. During the summit, Shri A.L Hek was felicitated for his efforts at setting up the Hawkers Free Zone Market, the setting up of which having enabled the hawkers to use the premises of the building free of cost.
