Shillong, Jan 23: The BJP leaders from Meghalaya met the Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda at the National Capital New Delhi, the deligation was let by Sanbor Shullai BJP MLA from Meghalaya along with the State BJP President MrErnest Mawrie and a host of other BJP leaders and members, in the meeting the BJP from Meghalaya sought support the projects related to tribal tourism.
This would include development of Orchid Polo for creation of more jobs besides revenue generation. Besides this he also sought his support to develop Seng Khasi Mawkhar and Raid Laban Cultural Centre to promote indegenious Khasi culture.
The state President has sought the Tribal Affair Minister’s intervention to help newly joined BJP MDCs of JHADC get development schemes as the four MDCs have raised their concern to the state BJP that they were not getting the required support from the central schemes .
The matter was also reported to Ram Madhav regarding the MDCs concerns. The minister has given assurances that he shall hold discussions on the matter with Chief Minister. The minister also gave his assurance stating that he would give special consideration to projects submitted by BJP MLA Shri Sanbor Shullai.
The state leaders also discussed various affairs related to state and sought adequate central support for various departments funded by the ministry of tribal affairs in the state of Meghalaya for overall development of the state.
