BSF arrested two people from Rajai from SWKH District with fake Indian currency

Shillong, Oct 17: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday received an information regarding smuggling of fake Indian currency note through International Border with Bangladesh from general area of BOP Rajai and BOP Gumaghat in South West Khasi Hills District.

On receipt of information 11 Bn BSF layed Special ambushes along the international Border on the most probable routes in jungle and riverine areas of Rajai, during the ambush the party apprehended a Bangladesh National, namely Bhola Sangma 68 yrears of  Anandopur village of Bangladesh which just 200 meters from the International Border.

When the BSF made a search of the apprehended person, the party recovered fake Indian currency Note 53 pieces of Rs.2000 currency note denomination having a face value of Rs.1,06,000/-.

The person whom the BSF apprehended had wrapped the FICN in a polythene and were concealed in his innerwear. The Bangladeshi National was also in possession of a mobile phone with 02 Bangladeshi Sims.

On preliminary questioning, the miscreant revealed that fake Indian currency notes were  handed over to him by Insan Ali residence of  Monia Gaon, of Sunamganj District in Bangladesh and he was to deliver the same to an Indian national.

The apprehended person along with FICN handed over to  Ranikor police station of  South West Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya for further legal action. It is likely that in detailed interrogation, more names will come up who are involved in this FICN rackets.
