Shillong, Feb 5: Filing of nomination papers continued in East Khasi hills District besides other districts in the state by candidates who will contest in coming Meghalaya Assembly Election slated for February 23 on Tuesday.
Among the fourteen candidates who filed their nominations, United Democatic Party working president Paul Lyngdoh who will field from the Shillong West constituency against Mohendro Rapsang a Congress candidate.
Besides Paul Lyngdoh other candidates who filed their nomination today include Ibari Kharsati and Embhah Syiemlieh from UDP, Iehkupar Nongrum, Andy Lyngwa, Fairly Kharni and Phira Rani all BJP candidates, Adelbert Nongrum from KHNAM, DP Iangjuh, M Lyngdoh and Professor Passah from NPP and Sounder Cajee as independent candidate amongst others.
On the other hand, Chief minister Mukul Sangma was among the filed his papers as the Congress candidate from the Ambati seat in South West Garo Hills with Ampati returning officer and deputy commissioner Ram Singh.(SP News)
