Shillong, January 03: Mr. Supriyo Dhar additional general secretary of the Central Puja Committee (CPC) today sent letter to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District who was also chairperson of the ten members committee to appeal on opening Mawjymbuin cave for devotees.
In the letter stated that the opening form the next holy month know as “Shravana” that is in the month of June and July 2025 and to declare the holy cave as as religious tourist sport to attract the International religious tourist reds.
The CPC of Meghalaya convey their heartfelt thanks for inclusion of CPC as a Member of the 10 member committee on vexed problem. In this connection, the additional general secretary they have receipt the invitation on to-days meeting.
The CPC of Meghalaya has jarranged a virtual meeting on last Sunday on 29.12.2024 .The meeting was presided over by Shri Naba Bhattacharjee , President, CPC. Along with Core Group Members of CPC, Meghalaya , Shri J.L. Das, General Secretary ,CPC also joined the Virtual Meeting from Bengaluru.
After having a threadbare discussion on the vexed issue, the CPC’s Virtual Meeting unanimously decided to to make an appeal before the meeting, the Cave in questioned known as reputed Religious Tourist Place and in 2002 more than 200 ISKCON Devotees from all over the World visited Shillong and they performed Puja in the Cave and CPC look after the other matters relating to maintenance of cleanliness in and around the Cave.
The CPC put forth suggestion, while aforesaid virtual meeting endorsing concern of the different NGO and rangbha shnong of the locality, CPC meeting suggested that , a strong Rules and Regulation be formed to regulate the religious activities in the Cave throughout the year especially 4 Sundays in the month of Shravana from, June to July and to manage the show.
The CPC, Meghalaya may posted 30-40 Volunteers to assist the Rangbah Shong and the local Dorbar Salary of the four person be borne by the Tourism Department Government of Meghalaya.
For Infrastructure Development of the Cave, Government of Meghalaya may grant. Rs. 5 lacks and rest will be arranged by the Stakeholders during rush da days four Sunday in the moth of “Shravana” Central Puja Committee of Meghalaya engage minimum 30 Volunteers to assist the.
The rangbah shonong and his people to regulate the devotees and visitors, during rush days , only 500 devotees will allowed to Visit and same will be regulate and Supervise by CPC. If CPC’ suggestion and appeal is accepted then a drafting committee may be constituted by this meeting.
