Shillong, Oct 24: Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases and high risk contacts which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 23rd October, 2020 has declared the Compound of Dr. Clarify Syrti, Pynthorbah Block-2, House of Roas Kharbamon, Lower Mawprem and BSNL CTO Quarter Type 1, Quarter No.2 as Micro-Containment Areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the sites.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within these areas shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes.
Respective Incident Commanders of these areas shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
