Former Meghalaya Speaker Mr Martin M Danggo resigns from the NPP party

Shillong, Feb 06: The Former Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Ex-MLA of Ranikor Constituency has resign from the party National people’s Party (NPP)  as desired by the majority people of the area.

In the resignation letter submitted to the General Secretary of the party Mr B Sangma late last night, he also expresses his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr Conrad K Sangma for creation of Ranikor Civil Sub Division under South West Khasi Hills District.

To recall Mr Danggo won the MLA Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 2018 from the Congress Party but he has resign as MLA for the sake of getting Ranikor  Sub Division and joint the NPP party contested the bye election but  he was defeated to his rival Mr Pius Marwein of the UDP.

The NPP appointed Mr Danggo as Co-Chairman Meghalaya State Planning Board at the rank of the Cabinet Minister.
