HITO written to Chief Minister Deploying paramilitary forces may do more harm than good

Shillong, August 17: The organsisation  Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organsation has written to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr. Conrad K Sangma, stating that deploying paramilitary forces may do more harm than good in the present fragile situation.

The organsation has asked the Chief Minister to withdraw the curfew imposed by the district administration in Shillong agglomeration. the sudden declaration of curfew has put our farm producers in a serious problem as hundreds of tons of vegetables and food are lying at various depots across the state.

This is uncalled for and it shows the lack of seriousness on the part of those in power to run the government smoothly. as a responsible organization would like to impress upon your leadership to withdraw the Curfew imposed inShillong agglomeration as soon as possible.

The failure of those in power should not result in pain for the masses especially the farm producers who were not given any sort of monetary aids to the farmers who, despite the pandemic looming in, are struggling to make ends meet.

The organsation  suggest the Chief Minister  not deploy any paramilitary forces in the district, don’t spill petrol on a fire hope as  Chief of the state you will solve the matter positively to bring back peace in the state.   Said Mr. Donbok Dkhar President of the organsation.
