Shillong, March 01: The Director General of Police Mr R Chandranathan IPS, said that in view of the prevailing law and order scenario that has arisen in the state of Meghalaya particularly in East Khasi Hills District appeal.
The DGP appeal to all citizens, Social organisation, Religious Organisation, Dorbar Shnong, Seng Kynthei, Seng Samla and all peace loving people from all spheres of life are requested to kindly unite in fighting menace of propagating and spreading of rumours, hate mongering, regarding the incident that happen in the state, which may lead to misinformation about the real fact of the situation.
In the appeal the DGP said that, in order to avert further escalation of such untoward incident, the public at large are requested to visit the official website of Meghalaya Police, Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram whereby news bulletin regarding the incidents occurring during the day are being disseminated twice in a day.
The DGP also that for any kinds of queries or assistance within the East Khasi Hills District, the general public is hereby requested to kindly contact the police phone numbers which are 100 and 0364-2222855 or can sent message thought the social media platform.
In the appeal the DGP said that if any person indulging in activities that may create law and order, communal disharmony, incite or instigate conflict in the state shall be sternly dealt with as per legal provisions of the statute of the land.
