Shillong, Oct 22: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has granted NABH accreditation to Supercare Hospital, Shillong. The NABH is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), set up to establish and operate accreditation programmes for healthcare organizations.
The NABH is an institutional member as well as a board member of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua). Hospitals accredited by the NABH get international recognition.
The NABH standards are currently the highest benchmark standard for hospital quality in India. There are mainly two versions of the standards for allopathic hospitals, the full NABH, suitable for large speciality and tertiary carelevel hospitals, and entry-level NABH, meant mainly for smaller hospitals that do not have the infrastructure and resources to comply with the full NABH.
The Supercare Hospital received the NABH Entry-Level certification on 5 October 2021, and then secured the full NABH accreditation on 29 September 2022. This certification is valid up to 30 September, 2026. Patients are the biggest beneficiaries from both the full NABH accreditation and the entry-level certification, as it results in a high quality of care and patient safety.
Patients are served by credential medical staff. The rights of patients are respected and protected. Patient satisfaction is regularly evaluated. Quality accreditations and certifications also benefit the staff of the hospital as it provides for continuous learning, a good working environment, leadership, and above all ownership of clinical processes.
Supercare Hospital becomes the first and only hospital in Meghalaya to get full NABH accreditation. Founder and Managing Director Dr. R. S. Thangkhiew believes the NABH accreditation strengthens the vision of Supercare Hospital.
