In the fight against Covid-19, N.F Railway have so far delivered 320 MT of LMO to Assam

Maligaon, June 01: In the fight against Covid-19, Northeast Frontier Railway has been co-operating the states in every way possible. N. F. Railway has transported Oxygen Express trains to meet the demand of life-saving Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) for treatment of corona patients during this critical situation.

Four Oxygen Express trains have so far delivered 320 MT of LMO to Assam. The Fourth Oxygen Express loaded with 80 MT of LMO in 4 containers leaving from Tata Nagar in Jharkhand on 31st May for Inland Container Depot, Amingaon in Assam arrived at its destination on 1st June. N. F. Railway created a Green Corridor for faster and safer movement of this life-saving consignment.

Meanwhile, three Oxygen Expresses delivered 240 MT of LMO to Assam offloading them at Inland Container Depot, Amingaon on 23rd, 26th and 29th May and brought relief to the state.

Overcoming all hurdles and finding new solutions, Indian Railways is continuing its journey of bringing relief by delivering Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to various states across the country.

So far, Indian Railways has delivered more than 22916 MT of LMO in more than 1357 tankers to various states across the country. It may be noted that 334 Oxygen Expresses have completed their journey so far and brought relief to various States.

Oxygen relief by Oxygen Expresses reached out to 15 states namely Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Telangana, Punjab, Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Assam.

Indian Railways has mapped different routes with Oxygen supply locations and keeps itself ready with any emerging need of the States. In order to ensure that Oxygen relief reaches in the fastest time possible, Railways is creating new standards and unprecedented benchmarks in running of Oxygen Express Freight Trains.

The average speed of these critical Freight trains is way above 55 in most cases over long distances. Running on high priority Green Corridor, with a highest sense of urgency, operational teams of various zones are working round the clock in most challenging circumstances to ensure that Oxygen reaches in fastest possible time frame.

Technical stoppages have been reduced to 1 minute for crew changes over different sections.
