Shillong, April 29: The Shillong Traffic Police has conducted special checking drive from 22d to 28″ of this month of April in the state capital, Shillong to ensure safety on the roads and to deter the violators.
During this period, a total of 684 violations were detected including the violations such as driving under the influence of alcohol, modified exhaust pipes etc and fine amount of Rs. 6,78,000/- was realized.
Shillong Traffic Police requests all citizens to drive carefully and follow the laws. Such special drives shall be conducted regularly in addition to regular checking in the interest of safety on the roads.
