Shillong, 14th Nov: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma released a book titled ‘Women and Development’ at a function held at North East India Chrustian Council Office today.
The book brought out by Union Christisn College and P A Sangma Foundation is dedicated to the memory of Late P A Sangma, Former Speaker, Lok Sabha and Former Chief Minister, Meghalaya.
Speaking during the occasion, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said documentation on programmes and addressing the issues arising out of the seminars and programmes is very important.
He also added that women should play a much larger participatory role in the economy and development of the State and the country. He further stated that the book will help many policy makers, researchers and students.
It may be mentioned here that the book is a compilation of seminar papers that was held on Women and Development which had discussed twenty five papers/topics during the seminar.
