Shillong, Dec 18: A memorandum from the Ai Federation of Khasi States was handed over to Shri.Conrad K Sangma Chief Minister, Meghalaya, at 9.30 am on 17 December 2019 in his official quarters to urge upon the MDA Government to address the issues of the Instrument of Accession & Annexed Agreement of 17 August 1948 through a similar special session.
The Chief Minister after hearing the delegation agreed to call.the FKS for a detail discussion along with other officials on the matter.
The FKS drew the attention of the CM on it’s earlier petition relating to the ILP and urged the Government to consider the IOA & AA as a permanent solution within.the Constititution of India.
The FKS also pointed out to the fact that clause 5 of the Annexed Agreement clearly mandates restrictions on application of central laws on the Khasi States as the IOA & AA is yet to be concluded between the respective authorities concerned.
