Meghalaya will play against Arunachal Pradesh in the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy from tomorrow

Shillong, Nov 17: Meghalaya will play their final group stage match of the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy from tomorrow against Arunachal Pradesh in Mangaldai, Assam.

Meghalaya have already secured progression to the next round from the North East Zone by accumulating an excellent 25 points from four matches, with Manipur and Nagaland, who have 20 each, to battle it out against each other for the other place.

Interestingly, no other team from any of the groups has accumulated as many points as Meghalaya. Uttar Pradesh, in the Central Zone, has the closest, at 23.

Meghalaya have so far defeated Mizoram by an innings and 142 runs (for which they received a bonus point in addition to the six they bagged as winners), Manipur by one wicket, Sikkim by 184 runs and Nagaland by 38 runs.
