Meghalaya will recived second instalment of Nirman Bharat Loan to clear power dues:Conrad

Shillong, April 22: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K. Sangma today hold the meeting of power department along with the official of the MeECL to discussed on the problems faced by the Corporation.

The Chief Minister said that in the last few months the MeECL is under tremendous pressure to clear the dues, though the Corporation is paying the dues regularly on the current dues.

The dues is more of the past the government has taken up after the pressure from different power generation the Government has gone ahead with the Anirman Bharat Loan.

The first tranch was released and now the government is waiting for the second tranch before getting it required few decision the government will take up with the government of India for the released of the second installment and hopefully will resolve the power issued.

What more important that the pressure that come in the last three month for the pressure that was there for the last ten to fifteen years, the pressure has come.

The Chief Minister said due to the hard work of the official of the MeECL so they are able to clear 50% of the liabilities and hope that in the next fews week will be able to clear the remaining dues.

The second instalment that they will get from the Anirman Bharat Loan will be Rs. 600 cores plus. The liability was there for the last fifteen years and the pressure was put in the last two month that has accumulated Rs. 1300 cores.
