Shillong, September 10, 2020: On receipt of a report that a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 was in Babla’s Shoppe, G. S. Road, in Babla’s INC, Police Bazar and in the office of Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong and the COVID-19 positive.
Case requires aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of the health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in orders issued on 8th September, 2020 has directed the above mentioned stores and office to temporarily remain closed until further orders.
On receipt of a report that a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 was in Legacy General Store, Dedar Market, Police Bazar, Shillong and because contact tracing, testing and isolation as well as containment is to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued on 10th September, 2020 has directed the above mentioned store to temporarily remain closed until further orders.
Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases and high risk contacts which require contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19. The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued today has declared the building of Shri. H.S Sohliya and the building of Smt. Miranda Myrthong near Laban Sports Club, Shillong as micro-containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
The order states that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within these areas shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes.
The Incident Commander, Zone II, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order. Any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
