Shillong, Sept 02: Today at around 5 pm based on source information that a drug deal would take place somewhere around Umshyrpi Bridge, an ANTF team was despatched which intercepted a Maruti 800, ML05E7993 with two occupants namely Shri Lucky Jana ,35 yrs and his wife Smti Klissida Nongkynrih 42 yrs, residents of Bishnupur .
Accordingly, in presence of independent witnesses and investigation officer from Jhalupara beat house search of the vehicle was conducted and a bag with 4 soap cases containing suspect narcotics was found.
Preliminary test has indicated the suspected contraband to be heroin whose total weight is found to be 46.10 gm and the market value being Rs3,60,000. A case under the NDPS Act is being taken up.
