Prof. Srivastava is continuing as VC of NEHU as per the direction from the Govt of India

Shillong, April 16: The North-Eastern Hill University would like to clarify to the public at large regarding the use of nomenclature for the present Vice-Chancellor by several organisations namely the North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA), the Meghalaya Tribal Teachers’ Association (MeTTA) and the Meghalaya Confederation for Academic Welfare (MeCAW) in the media, both print and electronic.

These organisations have time and time again referred to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. K. Srivastava as a “Caretaker”, “Term-ended”, “Term-expired”, “Acting” Vice Chancellor in the media, which is nothing but an attempt to mislead the public and smacks of mala fide intent. The University condemns these actions and urge the organisations to desist from indulging in such deplorable acts.
