The 71st Republic Day, 2020 celebrated across the state of Meghalaya peacefully

Shillong, Jan 27: The 71st Republic Day celebrated across the state of Meghalaya peacefully, people turn out in large numbers in all the location where the republic day celebration across the state, the celebration pass off peacefully.

At Tura, Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Prestone Tynsong unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 11 Parade Contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, DEF, Home Guards and Civil Defence, NCC Boys, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, and Band Party of 2nd MLP Bn. at P. A. Sangma Stadium, Dakopgre, Tura.

During the programme, the Chief Guest presented Certificate of Appreciation to the Best Village with regard to Water and Sanitation Committee under West Garo Hills District and for Village Level Entrepreneurs for their valuable efforts in citizen centric services towards the people of West Garo Hills through Digital India Schemes.

The Chief Guest also presented the Awards of Recognition for Cooperative Growth in Rural Development sectors to Songandinggre IVCS, Dadenggre, Renggigre IVCS, Tikrikilla Block, Bakrime IVCS, Selsella Block and Chirongdik SHG of Baljek Agal under West Garo Hills District.The other highlights    of the day’s celebration included tableau presentation, songs, dances, sports and games.

At Williamnagar, Social Welfare Minister, Shri Kyrmen Shylla unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 15 marching contingents comprising of 5th Meghalaya Police Bn., DEF, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and NCC at Rongrenggre Government Higher Secondary School playground.

At Ampati, Urban Affairs Minister, Hamletson Dohling unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 13 marching contingents comprising of the Meghalaya Police, NCC, and Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides at Ampati Mini Stadium.

The highlights of the day’s celebration were tableau presentation, cultural programmes, sports and games and distribution of food items to the inmates of Ampati Civil Hospital.

At Resubelpara, Education Minister, Shri Lahkmen Rymbui unfurled the National Flag took the Rashtriya Salute of 11 Parade contingents at Resubelpara.Mini Stadium.Other highlights of the day included tableau presentation and cultural programme.

At Baghmara, Water Resources Minister, Shri B. Nongsiej took the Rashtriya Salute of the 13 marching contingents comprising of BSF, DEF, SF-10 and schools at Government Higher Secondary School Playground, Baghmara.Other highlights of the celebration included sports and games, cultural programme and Exhibition Football Match between DC XI and SP XI.

At Jowai, Transport Minister, Shri S. Dhar unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 18 marching contingents comprising of DEF, SF-10, District Home Guards, NCC and schools at Jrisalein Playground.The celebration included tableau presentation, songs, dances, sports and distribution of gifts to inmates of Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai Civil Hospital and Jowai District Jail.

At Khliehriat, PHE Minister, Shri Samlin Malngiang unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 15 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, NCC and schools at Khliehriat Higher Secondary School playground.Tableau presentation, cultural programmes, football match and distribution of gifts to children and inmates of Civil Hospital and Shelter Home were the highlights of the day.

At Nongstoin, Adviser to the Chief Minister, Shri Thomas A. Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 14 Parade contingents comprising of the Meghalaya Police, DEF, NCC, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides and schools at New Nongstoin playground. Others highlights of the Day were tableau presentation, cultural programme, sports and games, distribution of food packages to patients of Civil Hospital, TB Hospital, S. Wollington Children’s Home, Nongpyndeng .

At Mawkyrwat, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister, Shri Banteidor Lyngdoh unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 10 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, schools and Pipe band from Meghalaya Home Guards & Civil Defence at Maharam Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat. ther highlights of the day included tableau presentation, cultural programmes, sports and games, distribution of sweets and food packages to the inmates of CHC, Mawkyrwat and Hope Orphanage.

At Nongpoh, Fisheries Minister, Shri Comingone Ymbon unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute of the 16 marching contingents comprising of the Meghalaya Police, NCC, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, schools and a Band from St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh at NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem Nongpoh.

Umden PHC bagged the Best PHC award, Commendation Award for CHC and PHC was bagged by Patharkhmah CHC, Marngar and Mawhati PHCs respectively.The celebration was also marked by Republic Day Run, tableau presentation, songs, dances cultural programmes and distribution of food packages to the inmates of Leprosy Colony, Nongpoh Civil Hospital, Children’s Home at Saiden and Umlyngkdait and jail inmates of Mawsyntai.

At Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Chairman, Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Ltd., Shri Jason Sawkmie Mawlong unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, DEF, NCC and schools at Sohra Sports Stadium, Saitsohpen, Sohra.

The  other  highlights  of  the  day  were cultural  programmes, distribution  of  gift  packages  to  the  inmates  of St. John  Orphanage  Home, Maraikaphon,  Borsing Syiem Children’s Home, Mawsmai and Sanjo Mount Mercy Home, Mawkisyiem.

At Mairang Civil Sub Division, Health & Family Welfare Minister, Shri A. L. Hek unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 9 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, NCC and schools at Dommawlum Stadium, Mairang. Other highlights of the celebration included tableau presentation, cultural programmes, distribution of food packets to patients of U Tirot Sing Memorial Civil Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital.

At Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, MLA, Smti Ferlin C. A. Sangma unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute of the marching contingents.Other highlights of the day included song, dances and cultural programmes.

At Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, Chairman, Meghalaya State Health Advisory Board, Shri Rakkam A. Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 4 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police and schools at Amlarem Government Primary School Playground. The celebration was marked by tableau presentation, songs, cultural items and dances presented by students of various schools.

At Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, Chairman, Meghalaya Resource & Employment Generation Council, Shri Marcuise N. Marak unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the parade contingents comprising of the Meghalaya Police and school students at Urksew Umkor Pynursla Sport Club Stadium.

At Mawshynrut Civil Sub Division, Chairman, Meghalaya Commission on Resource Mobilisation, Shri W. Shylla took the Rashtriya Salute of 4 parade contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police and schools.Other highlights of the day included cultural programmes and distribution of gifts to Persons with Disabilities.

At Raksamgre Civil Sub-Division, Co-Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board, Shri Benedict R. Marak unfurled the Tricolor and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 10 marching contingents, comprising of Meghalaya Police and students of various schools at Raksamgre public playground.

At Chokpot Civil Sub-Division, Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board, Shri Lambor Malngiang unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the marching contingents at Warima Playground.

At Ranikor Civil Sub-Division, Meghalaya Deputy Speaker, Shri Timothy D. Shira hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 5 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police and schools at Nolikata playground, Ranikor.The other highlights of the day included cultural programmes and sports and games.

 At Patharkhmah Administrative Unit, Chairman, Meghalaya Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation, Shri S. Sohtun unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 6 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police and schools at Patharkhmah Playground.The other highlights of the day included songs, dances, cultural programmes and friendly football match.

 At Hima Shangpung Administrative Unit, Chairman, Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation, Shri Sanbor Shullai unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 6 marching contingents.
