The 73rd Republic Day, 2022 celebrated peacefully across the State in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 27: In Tura the  Lok Sabha MP, Smti Agatha K Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of 7 parade contingents at Matchakolgre L P School Playground, New Tura.

The other highlight of the day’s celebration comprises of colourful dance and songs presented befitting the occasion. In the Tableau presentation the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Tura bagged the First prize, Border Area Development Department the Second and Soil and Water Conservation Department the Third prize respectively.

During the function, the Chief Guest presented the Award of Appreciation for Front Line Covid Warriors to Dr. Elim K Marak Special Microbiologist-Molecular Laboratory, Tura Civil Hospital, Dr. Kimkim D Shira and Dr. Reema W Sangma, Medical Officers of Flu Clinic and Covid Ward, Tura Civil Hospital, Miltarin Ch Marak, Staff Nurse, Chemida Ch Marak, Female Attendant, Covid Ward and Molecular Laboratory Team, Tura Civil Hospital.

Further, on the occasion the Chief Guest presented the Awards of Recognition for Outstanding Performance in the field of Sports in categories for Table Tennis Jeff Alhamha K Marak, Aeroville Higher Secondary School, Tura and Chuanna M Marak, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura while in Football category it was Awarded to Santilla M Sangma, in Cricket category to Ajima A Sangma and in Pencak Silat category to Karimchean A Sangma.

In the Education Sector, the Awards of Recognition for Outstanding Performance in SSLC Examination, 2021 was given to 15th Rank Holder in SSLC Examination Patiprata Ghosh from Pechon Memorial Police Public Secondary School, Tura, to 18th Rank Holder in SSLC Examination, 2021 Divya Binu Matthew, St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Tura and to 8th Rank Holder in HSSLC Examination, 2021 Saurav Modak from Don Bosco College (Higher Secondary Section), Tura.

Meanwhile, the Chief Guest also presented the Certificate of Appreciation for Exemplary Service Delivery to Nil Kamal Barman, Inspector Debdulal Bhattacharjee and WPC/1485, Sentera K Sangma all from 2nd Battalion, Meghalaya Police Goeragre while the Award of Appreciation for Dedicated Service & Valuable Contribution were given to Nimrica R Marak, Field Engineer, CLLMP-MBDA, Tura and Pewan T Sangma, Multi-Task Assistant, BDU (IBDLP).

The Award of Recognition for Promotion of Integrated (Livestock & Poultry) Farming and Women Entrepreneurship was given to Nila R Marak from Sanchonggre, Rongram Block and Award of Recognition for Promotion of Dairy Farming and Rural Entrepreneurship to Baplu A Sangma from Rombagre, Rongram Block.

Further, the Water Award Recognition for Conservation & Protection of Water Bodies, Catchment Areas and Agro-Forestry initiatives were given to Aminda Simsanggre Village Natural Resource Management (VNRMC), Gambegre C & RD Block and Chambagre Village, Selsella C & RD Block.

At Williamnagar, Fisheries Minister, Shri Sniawbhalang Dhar unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the lone marching contingent of the East Garo Hills District Executive Force at Rongrenggre Higher Secondary School playground, Williamnagar.

The highlights of the celebration include colourful cultural programme and tableau presentation by the Department of Forest and Environment on afforestation, Deputy Labour Commissioner on e-shram portal, District Horticulture Office on citrus rejuvenation and use of fly traps, District Medical & Health Office on COVID-19 vaccine and Deputy Commissioner’s Office on aadhaar enrolment.

On the day the chief guest gave away the certificates and trophies to the four best Common Service Centres, best kitchen garden of ICDS Anganwadi centre and to the winners of tableau presentation.

 At Ampati, Thomas A. Sangma, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the lone parade contingent of the Ampati District Police at Ampati Students’ Field. The main highlight of the celebration was the tableaux presentation by the Departments of Health, DCIC, MBMA (Piggery Mission & FOCUS) and Swachh Bharat Mission and a short cultural programme.

The Chief Guest, along with the Deputy Commissioner, Ch. Ramakrishna, also presented certificates of appreciation to WPSI Rachna N. Marak, Officer in-charge Ampati Women Police Station, for her efficiency and dedicated service and to sportspersons of the district Chengkam K Sangma for representing the state at various National level cricket tournaments organized by BCCI and an outstanding athlete Rakkamston Ch Marak.

Mellim PHC and Zikzak PHC were awarded the Best Performing PHC and the Most Promising PHC of the district respectively, while Dr. L C K Sangma, District Surveillance Officer was felicitated for his hard work and dedication towards COVID-19 surveillance during the pandemic.

 At Resubelpara, Shri Rupert Momin, MLA unfurled the National Flag took the Salute of the lone Parade contingent of the Meghalaya Police at Resubelpara Mini Stadium. Other highlights of the day include tableau presentation and cultural programme.

 At Baghmara, PHE Minister, Shri Renikton L Tongkhar unfurled the National flag and took Salute of the lone parade contingent of the South Garo Hills DEF at Simsang Beach. During the programme, souvenirs of South Garo Hills District and the District Calendar, 2022 were released.

Besides, the District Administration also felicitated Shri Ronaldson Ch Sangma of Reserve Gittim Baghmara, Shri Arien Bonchang N Sangma of Kona Gittim Baghmara, Shri Perastill R Sangma of Daji Bibragre Chokpot, Shri Trebith Ch Momin of Dabit Ampangdam Baghmara, Shri Awensing S Rongmuthu of Chokpot and Shri Kalseng Ch Sangma of Reserve Gittim Baghmara for excel in different fields and for bringing laurels to the District in the field of Sports, Literature, Woodcarving, Bamboo making, Food processing etc.

The other program includes distribution of gifts and food packages to the Hospital inmates and Shelter Home Baghmara. Sports for children and exhibition football match between DC XI vs SP XI and Exhibition Cricket Match between DC XI vs Nokma Village XI.

 At Jowai, Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Prestone Tynsong unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Jrisalein Playground. Highlights of the celebration include tableau presentation by various Government Departments and distribution of Certificate of Appreciation to the participants in the cultural programme and to District heads who participated in the Tableau display.

 At Khliehriat, Shri Nujorki Sungoh, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Khliehriat Higher Secondary School Playground. The other highlights of the celebration included cultural dance and tableau presentation by various Departments.

During the programme, the Chief Guest handed over prizes to the winners of the Tableau presentation wherein the first prize was awarded to the Office of the District Agriculture Officer and District Horticulture Officer, East Jaintia Hills District the second prize was bagged by the Office of the Executive Engineer (Water Resources).

East Jaintia Hills District and the Office of the District Commerce and Industries Centre, East Jaintia Hills District bagged the third prize. In the cultural programme, the first prize was bagged by Tluh Village Organization, the Second prize was awarded to Dkhiah East Secondary School and the third prize was bagged by Khliehriat Presbyterian Secondary School.As part of the celebration, the District Officers also distributed gifts to Children’s Home (Boys) and Children’s Home (Girls), CHC Khliehriat and CHC Sutnga.

At Nongstoin, C&RD Minister, Shri H. Dohling unfurled the National Flag and took Salute of the four parade contingent comprising of the West Khasi Hills DEF, Civil Defence & Home Guards and NCC Boys and Girls of Nongstoin College along with the Pipe Band of Shillong and the Brass Band Pyndengrei at St. Peter playground, Pyndengrei.

The highlights of the programme include Tableau Presentation by the Water Resources, AH& Veterinary, PHE and the Agriculture and Horticulture Department. Song Composer, Shri J. Thongni and two Police awardees from the District were felicitated during the programme, prize distribution to the winners of the online video clip on COVID-19 to Shri. J. Khardewsaw, Shri M. Lyngkhoi and Rekhain Group.

At Mawkyrwat, Shri Abdus Saleh, MLA unfurled the National flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police and Home Guards at Nativity Higher Secondary School playground.

The other highlights of the day included the presentation of tableaus wherein National Rural Livelihoods Mission, Mawkyrwat C&RD Block bagged the first prize, District Commerce & Industries Centre, Mawkyrwat the second prize and the Soil & Water Conservation Department received the third prize. Dongkseh SHG was awarded for their entrepreneurial achievement and being the first SHG in manufacturing the Sanitary Pad unit in the entire state of Meghalaya.

Health workers and 13 (thirteen) COVID Warriors were also felicitated during the programme. Mawlangwir and Shngi Mawlein village were felicitated for excellent work in vaccination coverage and good coordination and control the village during the Pandemic situation.

Special Award for Adolescent Programme under Health was given to Smti Ibanrilang Thangkhiew and team, the Adolescent Health Counsellor, Ranikor for showcasing courage and impressive act towards prevention of early marriage and adolescent health and well-being under Ranikor Block.

At Nongpoh, Transport Minister, Shri Dasakhiatbha Lamare unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents comprising of 6th MLP Battalion and a Band troop at NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem.

Highlights of the day include display of tableaus by different government departments of the district and cultural programme. Awards were also presented to the Best Performing Health Institution, Best performing ASHA etc and Local Champion Award to Sports and talented persons.

At Mairang, Home Minister, Shri Lahkmen Rymbui unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the three marching contingents comprising of the Eastern West Khasi Hills District Police, NCC of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mairang and Mairang Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Mairang.

The other highlights of the celebration include tableau presentation by Election Branch, Deputy Commissioner’s Office,  Office of the Block Development Officer, Mairang C&RD Block, Horticulture Department, Health Department and PHE Department as also songs presented by various artistes of the District.

On the occasion, appreciation certificates were also handed over to frontline workers of the Health Department as a mark of recognition of their selfless dedication towards duty in the fight against COVID-19.

Recognizing their selfless services towards the community, the District Administration also distributed certificates and cash awards to traffic volunteers of Pyndengumiong Village during the programme.

At Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Gavin M Mylliem, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the lone marching contingent of the Meghalaya Police at Sohra Sports Stadium, Saitsohpen. Other highlights of the celebration include cultural programme which was performed by the Sohra Govt. College.

At Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, Shri Saleng A Sangma, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Dadenggre public playground. Highlights of the celebration include cultural programmes.

At Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, Shri Wailadmiki Shylla, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Government LP School Playground.  Highlights of the day include cultural programmes and distribution of Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants in the programme.

At Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, Social Welfare Minister, Shri Kyrmen Shylla unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Urksew Umkor Pynursla Sport Club Stadium. Other highlights of the programme include handing of gift packets to the patients of Pynursla PHC and to the NEIMA orphanage.

At Mawshynrut Civil Sub Division, Shri Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the two marching contingents comprising of Mawshynrut police and Lyngngam Presbyterian Secondary School at Riangdo Playground.Cultural programme, distribution of prizes and eatables to the patients of CHC Riangdo were the other highlights of the celebration.

At Raksamgre Civil Sub-Division, Shri S G E Mominin, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Matchokgre HS School playground.

At Chokpot Civil Sub-Division, Shri Jim M Sangma MLA unfurled the National flag and took the Salute at Chokpot Civil Sub- Division, South Garo Hills.

At Ranikor Civil Sub-Division, Shri Pius Marwein, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at the premises of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Ranikor.Health workers and Covid Warriors were also felicitated during the programme.

Panchiring B Village was awarded for achieving 95% vaccination against COVID-19. Mahila Sriti VO, Jamadwar was felicitated for 100% vaccination of its SHG members. Nonghyllam Police were honored for maintaining of Law & Order and helping Medical Staffs on vaccination programme. 

At Patharkhmah Administrative Unit, Shri Sosthenes Sohtun, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the lone marching contingent of the Meghalaya Police at the premises of the Office of the Block Development Officer, Jirang C&RD Block.

 At Hima Shangpung Administrative Unit, Shri Comingone Ymbon, MLA unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Hula Playground, Moosyiem, Shangpung.  Cultural programmes, handing over of the land document for Solid Waste Disposal Site by Hula Mynshong Shangpung to the Synjuk ki Dorbar Shnong Shangpung were the highlights of the celebration.
