The AMSSASTA demanded from the state government to regularizes the services

Shillong, July 07: The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association (AMSSASTA) at the  meeting held at Tura at SMELC building at Dakopgre recently in garo Hills and discussed on the job security of the teachers who are appointed in the SSA School in Meghalaya.

In the meeting demanded the state government to regularize SSA Teachers service as a most of the SSA teachers already in service for years, and also most of SSA teachers are qualified and fit to be in service as they are fulfilled the NCTE norms.

Beside that the meeting demanded the state government to enhance the payment (salaries) to SSA teachers as currently SSA Teachers’ salaries is too low comparing to Salaries of others SSA teachers in others states of India. This low incomes compelled teachers to seek others extra activities that may generate income to support their family. So this will affect teachers’ teaching profession.

The meeting also has resolved to demands the state government to releases long pending arrears, recalling back to arrears there are 5512 untrained SSA LP teachers and 296 trained SSA LP teachers and 6039 trained SSA UP teachers and 637 trained SSA UP teachers.

The government excused that it did not received fund from the central government and so this time the government should make sure to receive the funds if not, the association have no other options but seeking legal help from the court at that time the government had to pay with interest. The association is planning to send a delegation to Delhi to meet with MHRD officials to enquire about various problems of SSA teachers including long pending arrear.

The meeting also resolved to demanded the government of Meghalaya to change the system of payment of salaries of SSA teachers by transferring teachers salary directly to teachers personal account through e-transfer or others forms of transferring money like it did to Cook cum helper, CRCs, BRCs , Job card Holders of MGNREGS and others.

The Association AMSSASTA through its general secretary sir D. Lamare would like to extend his gratitude to all the SSA teachers, especially to the members of Districts, Blocks, who took part in the meeting regardless of their tight scheduled. Said Mr D Maring in the press statement issued today from the AMSSASTA Central Body.
