The BSF nabbed eleven Bangladeshi hindu nationals from Baghmara, SGH District

Shillong, Dec 06: The the BSF troops deployed at Baghmara of South Garo Hills District on Wednesday,  nabbed eleven Bangladeshi Hindu nationals including four  minors during checking of vehicles on Hill road NH-62 from Baghmara to Tura.

They were identified as Nirmal Sarkar, 34 years, Pronoy Dey 23 years, Sapan Barman 33 years, Kabi Ranjan Dey 25 years, Nupur Talukdar 22 years, Suma Sarkar 25years, Kana Rai 20 years, and one Indian Tout namely Manmohan Majumdar 48 years residence of Cooch Behar.

The BSF Party also seized Indian currency Rs.8,000/- and Bangladesh currency 47,000 Taka along with other personal belongings from their possession. These Bangladesh nationals are residents of Netrakona and Sunamganj of Bangladesh.

It is mentioned that Baghmara is very close to the International Border. Due to non-existence of Indo-Bangladesh border fence at many places, at times Bangladeshi nationals illegally enter into Indian territory taking advantage of thick vegetation.

At present, just before General Election in Bangladesh, a tense situation prevailing in Bangladesh and under these circumstances minority community is seemingly feeling insecure in Bangladesh. In this instant case these Hindu Bangladeshis were trying  to infiltrate into Indian territory  through unfenced jungle area for further safe passage. Other four minors are between the age from two to five years.

During the questioning of tout Mr  Manmohan Majumdar, residence of Kalarayekuthi, village of Cooch Behar District of West Bengal, he revealed that he exfiltrated into Bangladesh one week before and there onwards he contacted all Bangladeshi nationals with the help of one Bangladesh national namely Sukumar Dayal Hajong, residence of  Nayankandi, in Bangladesh.

After reaching Bangladesh he contacted willing Hindus who want to come with him to settle in India. He is one of the most wanted people in Bangladesh who always used to go to into Bangladesh for motivation of Hindus for migration. Bangladesh Police has arrested him previously also. He also confessed that he was residing in Kalmakanda, Nayabazar in Bangladesh since 17 years.

The apprehended Hindu Bangladeshies confessed that they have relatives who are already residing in Coochbehar in India. Apprehended persons and seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
