Baghmara, Oct 16: Baghmara celebrates World Food Day 2020 and FAO’s 75th Anniversary at District Agriculture Office Premises on the Theme, “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together”.
The programme was conducted by Shri B R. Sangma, ADO(Hqr), Baghmara. Key note on World Food Day was presented by Miss. Bidanchi Marak (Asst. Technology Manager, ATMA).
Speaking on the occasion shri P. Mawa (District Agriculture Officer), motivated the farmers’ for greater access to grow more nutritious food, increase of production and will continue to be essential part of the response to the COVId-19 pandemic, particularly for poor and vulnerable communities, who are the hardest hit by the pandemic and resulting economic shock.
In a moment like this, it is more important than ever to recognize the need to support our food heroes – farmers and workers throughout the food system – who are making sure that food makes its way from farm to fork even amid disruptions as unprecedented as the current COVID19 crisis.
Among the progressive farmers’ Shri Brejickson A. Sangma and Barmita D Sangma also share their experiences on farming and encourage other farmers to grow more nutritious food and follow up innovative techniques.
The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Zicco Haddy R Marak (Asst. Technology Manager,ATMA) and Rabi season seeds was also distributed to the farmers’ by District Agriculture Office.
