Shillong Oct 07: Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases and high risk contacts in the house of Shri Jokstar Marbaniang, Wahingdoh Block-3 and in the houses of Shri Deepak Sinha, Haripad Sukla Baydya, Bidhan Malakar, Bijoy Devnath, Ganga Ram Jat, Champa Dhar, Pradeep Ghosh, Maloy Dhar and Ionglang Passah at Lower Mawprem which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 7th October, 2020 has declared the above mentioned houses as micro containment areas with effect from 7th October, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the sites.
The orders states that no person are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their homes.
The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
