Shillong, April 26: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma inform that the positive cases in the State are still hight, the situation is serious and more and more returnees are comming and the government is looking for different containment strategies and to avoid lockdown.
The Chief Minister stated that to contain the situation in Shillong City more and more restiction will be there in Shillong City, 65% of the returnees are testing positive.
To ensure that they are able to control the spread so returnees either they are testing positive or negative they should isolate themself for seven days. The Deputy Commissioner will issued mor guidelineguideline to avoid confusion among people.
The Chief Minister urged upon people of the state particularly the citizens of Shillong City since the situation is serious as it was from bad to worst Chief Minister urged people above 45 of age to get themself Vaccination.
The government will review the situation in the next few days, the government is concern on the availability of resources and to be able to fight specially when it come to requirements of oxygen, beds and medication.
Today while returning from Tura on the way have visited the oxygen plant at Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi District, in the meeting the management assured the Government that they will supply to the health department on a regular bases as on when required and with the help of the UNDP and Government of India will set up six more oxygen production centre in the state.
The government will create awareness up to the village level where only people who need medical attention be taken care off. The returnees are own people we should taken care off.
