The Govt has constituted inquiry, if found any lapses will be kept behind bar: Prestone  

Shillong, July 07: The Deputy Chief Minister Mr Prestone Tynsong (Right) told the media at Yojana Bhavan that State Government has constituted an inquiry on how the people from Meghalaya has attended the marriage ceremony at Greenwood Resort in Assam, since interstate movement of people has not allowed, if found any lapses either from the official or from the public will be put behind bar.

During the press conference the Deputy Chief Minister admit that only five person were given permission, haw come 41 attended the wedding ceremony on the 27/6/2020 at Greenwood Resort in Assam, and after returning from Assam there is also reception organised in Shillong.

The Government has asked both the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District and Ri Bhoi District tomorrow to submit the inquiry report if the government find that there ia ia a lapses either from the official or from the public they will be kept behind bar.

Deputy Chief Minister inform that out of 41 people, 39 people have tested negative and two were tested positive from thus people who have attended the wedding ceremony in Assam. The health workers are still doing the contact tracing of this people.

The Government has advice all concern that if anyone has come in contact with these people they should immediately register themselves with 108, from the health department will issued official notification on this matter.

The Government is concern with the health of the people of the state that why interstate movement of people is strictly prohibited, going outside the state will be allowed only for medical treatment and if someone expired.
