Shillong, August 5: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organsation (HITO) today has sent a formal Complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills against Meghalaya BJP for Covid-19 protocol gross violation by holding party meeting in three location in Meghalaya, at Nongpoh, Garikhana and Laban on the 31rd August 2021.
The organsation stated that this is clearly stated that permission for the BJP party booth level meeting of 19-South Shillong Legislative Assembly at Assam Club in Laban on July 31 in which BJP national general secretary, Arun Singh and MP Rajya Sabha and Ajay Janwal, BJP North East General Secretary organsation,.
In the meeting who were attending are senior party functionaries where in ample attendance was given vide Home (Political) Department letter No. POL.62/2003/Pt.II/47 dated July 29th, 2021.
The letter clearly states that permission is granted for three meetings of the BJP functionaries in Nongpoh, Garikhana and Laban subject to stringent Covid 19 protocols as prescribed by the state health department.
The letter indubitably states that “the number of attendees permitted for the above meetings is limited to 20 persons only for each venue subject to strict adherence to health protocols issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department”.
The organsation is sharing a video clip from news channel Don Bosco Media Network which clearly shows that the number of attendees was way beyond the directed 20 persons and possibly could even total to around a hundred if one were to go by eyewitness accounts of residents of Howell road Laban and passersby as well.
In this regard, HITO file a formal complaint with the Deputy Commissioner Office seeking immediate cognizance of this serious matter by taking stringent legal action against the violators or sponsors of the said meetings as per prescribed law of the land.
HITO also like to urge the Deputy Commisioner to also conduct an enquiry and identify which officer and district team let such blatant disregard and contempt of the law take place unabashedly in broad daylight and take suitable against the erring public servant.
Such delinquent actions will corrode the faith of the people which I am sure is on top of your list of priorities and hence requires swift and fair remedial action. Mr. Donbok Dkhar President of the organsation given one week time to the Deputy Commissioner to take action or else they will knock the door of the judiciary.
