The Lokayukta issued bailable  warrant of arrest to Smti. Rikse formal Secretary EC of GHADC

Shillong, May 29: The Court of Lokayukta in vide order dated.25.05.2022 have issued the bailable  warrant of arrest amounting to Rs.20,000/- to Respondent No.1 that is Smti. Rikse R. Marak, the formal Secretary to the Executive Committee of GHADC and present Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tura Municipal Board.

The Respondent No. 6 that is Mr. Hewingson A. Sangma, the then Principal Secretary of GHADC who was retired from service earlier this year. The warrant of arrest to the above mentioned bureaucrat and retired bureaucrat was issued while taking up the case as none of these above mentioned bureaucrats were present during the course of hearing of the case.

It may be mentioned that the complaint case was filed by Mr. Flaming B. Marak and six others, the former employee of GHADC who turned into a social activist and the case was registered as complaint case No.2 of 2021.

Mr. Flaming B. Marak and  Others have filed the Complaint case against Smti. Rikse  R. Marak, the then Secretary to the Executive Committee, GHADC, Shri. Dipul R. Marak, Former CEM of GHADC, Shri. Benedic R. Marak, Former CEM of GHADC, Shri. SG Esmatur Mominin.

Former MDC of Shyamnagar GHADC Constituency, Shri. Hewingson A. Sangma, former Principal Secretary of GHADC, Smti. Twinkle NewarSangma, a Contractor who is also the sister-in-law of Shri. James Pangsang K. Sangma, present Health Minister, Govt. of Meghalaya and Shri. Conrad K. Sangma, present Chief minister of Meghalaya and other contractors.

The Complaint Case was filed for non-implementation of various projects, misappropriation of public funds, schemes meant for development and non-adherence to the guidelines issued by the Central Government of India.

As per the contain of the complaint, the above mentioned bureaucrats, former CEM, MDC and  contractors of GHADC have failed to implement the schemes and  Crores of  rupees have been misused, misappropriated, therefore, Complaint Case has been filed in the Court of Lokayukta and preliminary investigation has been conducted.

The report also have been submitted by  the Inquiry Officer Shri. F.D Sangma, retired IPS who is the Director of Inquiry wing of Meghalaya Lokayukta and accordingly the Complaint case has been pursued  by the Complainant through his lawyer Mr. P.T  Sangma and the next date is fixed on 29.06.2022 for hearing under section 20(3) of Meghalaya Lokayukta Act, 2014, said Mr. Flamingbirth   B Marak.
