The LTS organized Annual Leadership Forum at St. Edmund Higher Secondary School

Shillong, May 28: A one day Student leadership Forum was organised by LTS Shillong region, hosted by St. Edmunds Higher Secondary School, Shillong, on 28 May 2023, from 8:30 to 4:30 pm. Around 300 students from 7 schools from in and around of Shillong took part in this leadership Conclave.

Smti. Rosetta Mary Kurbah  IAS, honourable Deputy commissioner, East Khasi Hills was the Chief guest. Br. Solomon Morris, principal, St. Edmunds Higher Secondary School as guest of honour,  also sister Mable, principal Loretto Convent School and Fr. Alayee, Director Youth Ministry, Sacred Heart Theological College were the other two dignitaries present for the occassion.

In her inaugural speech, the chief guest exhorted the students to break the shackles of comfort zone and move out to interact with people to achieve one’s goal. She also further added that our respond to negativity depends on our attitude and advice the student to accept other as the world is convincingly becoming a global citizen.

The annual student leadership forum is an initiative of Leadership Training Service under the surveillance of Br. John P Tom, Tom CMI the coordinator of LTS Shillong region. The seminar had four speaker   each sharing their expertise in their own field.

Dr. JuditaSyiemleih from Rotary international exhorted on the topic “Leadership for Adolescents”, Shri JC Ankur Jhunjhunwala , National Vice President of JCI India, spoke on the different types of leadership and the art of creative leadership.

After the Lunch Smti. Eva Thabah enlightened the students to be self leader and appreciate one self. The last session by  SwapnilPawar IPS, Sub Divisional Officer  SadarShillong, on cyber security was a great eye opener for the young leaders on the know how and the danger the pose a threat in tier leadership Journey.

The day had various lesson oriented activities, refreshment and active interactive session from both the animators and the student. The LTS has its presence in 15 schools of Shillong with its motto “For God and the World” continually strive to educate the students to be honest citizen today and a leader with ethical value tomorrow.
