Maligaon, Dec 11: In view of the proposal to introduce Passenger train services in various section of NFR, it has now been decided to start function of the UTS counters for the benefit of local passengers.
As already notified, passenger train services are going to start in various sections of NFR like New Bongaigaon – Guwahati and Alipurduar Jn – Bamanhat sections w.e.f. 14.12.2020.
And in view of the above, decision has been taken to extend the validity of the season tickets which remained unutilized due to cancellations of train services due to COVID – 19 pandemic situations.
It is every possibility that good numbers of MST (Monthly Season Ticket) holders will approach the UTS counters for revalidation on the day of commencement of train services which might result into overcrowding.
In order to minimise the overcrowding and to maintain the social distance at the UTS counters, NFR authority has now decided to keep the UTS counters open in entire New Bongaigaon – Guwahati and Alipurduar Jn – Bamanhat sections from 08-00 hrs of 12.12.2020. So, Passengers willing to revalidate their MST can approach any UTS counter from Saturday onwards to avoid rush.
