Shillong, Dec 20: The Special Superintendent of Police (CID), Meghalaya has informed that with the phenomenal increase in the use of computers, smart phones and internet and with enhanced use of technology for day to day activities, the possibility of cyber crimes is also increasing. Common types of cyber crimes include email spoofing, cyber bullying, job frauds, banking frauds, etc.
As part of the initiative to spread awareness about various types of cyber crimes prevalent in the Country, the Ministry of Home Affairs has brought out “A Handbook for Adolescents/ Students on Cyber Crime”. The information provided in the handbook is to create awareness among the citizens about cyber crime threats. The copy of the Handbook is available on www.cybercrime.gov.in andwww.mha.gov.in
