The Police of WGH District rescued the abducted women and Child from Dhubri, Assam  

Shillong, July 03: The information was received at Phulbari Police Station on 22nd June 2022,  that on 20th June 2022, some unknown miscreants abducted one woman along with her one and half year old baby from Rongkon Bazar.

On receipt of information, a case was immediately registered vide Tura Women Police Station Case No. 84(06)2022 u/s 366/34 IPC and investigation was entrusted to WPSI Chemetengsil A. Sangma.

During investigation, it was found yesterday that the victims have been taken to Dhubri District of Assam and kept in confinement at a place called Beltuli under Bilasipara Police Station.

Accordingly, in a joint operation conducted yesterday by West Garo Hills Police and Dhubri Police, the abducted victim and her baby was rescued safely. The alleged accused person named Moni Zaman 23 years of West Garo Hills was also arrested.

All of them have been brought to Tura this morning and the accused person is being forwarded to court. It is learnt that the accused person has been allegedly threatening the girl and her family members continuously. He allegedly created ruckus in the shop of the father of victim on 31st March 2022, 8th April 2022 as well as 9th April 2022.

In this connection, another case vide Tura Women PS Case no. 48(04)2022 u/s 354/447/ 506 IPC was registered on 14th April 2022 and is being investigated by WPSI Tanya C. Marak. Chargesheet in both cases shall be filed soon.

The Kidnapping and  Assault Accused Persons Arrested from Rajabala In another case, on 1st July 2022, an information was received at Selsella OP that on 30/06/2022 at 5:30 pm, while the complainant was returning from Block Office, Selsella after attending a meeting.

The  two persons namely Nur Alom of Sakmal village and Nazidur Islam of Kandergaon village, both under Rajabala OP attacked him at Haldibari and attempted to take him in their vehicle.

However, he escaped somehow. Later, the same accused persons attacked him again on the same day between Haldibari and Babetpara village but he was saved by four good Samaritans. The four persons then escorted him to his home at Rajabala.

On receipt of information, a case was immediately registered vide Tura PS Case No. 141(07)2022 u/s 341/342/365/511/34 IPC and investigated by UBSI Rhenius R Sangma.

On Saturday the  three persons namely, Nur Alom 23 years of  Sakmal village,  Shri Moshaidul Sheikh 22 years Shri Nazidur Rehman 23 of New Bhaitbari villageall are from West Garo Hills were arrested and forwarded to court.

Investigation continues and chargesheet shall be filed soon. Persons Accused of Forging Land Documents Arrested On 1st July 2022, an information was received at Tura Police Station the effect that two persons approached the complainant and informed him that Shri Brenny Bithon Basin Ch. Marak has a plot of land at Bokmagre, Tura which is for sale.

Later, they showed the land to the complainant as well as a Land Patta marked as PP No. 63 and told that out of this land, they want to sell 1B-0K10L only for Rs. 14,00,000/- only. Accordingly, the complainant paid Rs. 10,50,000/- only to the seller.

Afterword, the complainant came to know that the land has been already sold to different person and on confronting the sellers, they agreed to refund the money to him. However, the money has not been refunded till date.

It was suspected that they showed him a forged Land Patta to cheat him. On receipt of information, a case was immediately registered vide Tura PS Case No. 140(7)22 u/s 417/419/420/423/471 /467/34 IPC and investigation was entrusted to UBSI Tenny G Momin.

Yesterday, both accused persons namely Smti Noballina S. Marak, of Araimile, Tura, West Garo Hills and Shri Brenny Bithon Basil Ch. Marak of  Upper Babupara, Tura, West Garo Hills were arrested and forwarded to court. Investigation continues and chargesheet shall be filed soon.
