The Railway Protection Force of N. F Railway rescue five minors from Guwahati station 

Maligaon, Jan 23:The Railway protection Force (RPF) of the N. F Railway has been successfully rescuing minor children due to continuous alertness throughout its jurisdiction spreading over many states.

In one such incident on 22.01.2021, while Lady Constable smti. angita Sarma of while performing duty at Guwahati Railway station at about 06.45 am, she noticed one alone minor girl entering into the station through main entrance gate in distressed condition.

On being asked she disclosed her name and also informed that she fled away from her home at Pasighat, Dist – East Siang, Arunachal Pradesh for onward journey to Delhi without any intimation to her parents or relatives in search of job. Thereafter, the rescued minor girl was brought to Guwahati for further necessary action.

On checking her bag one Aadhar card, one school identity card, some used cloths, one SAMSUNG smart phone, two nos bank pass books (SBI & Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank) & cash Rs-1,430/- were found. RPF  of Guwahati informed also her brother about the rescue through mobile. Later after observing all formalities the rescued minor girl was handed over to Railway Child Line/Guwahati for her safe custody.

In another incident on 22.01.2021, Asst Sub Inspector Mr. J. S. Wunganing along with Lady Constable smti. Sangita Sarma of Guwahati alongwith members of Railway Childline Guwahti were conducting checking against human trafficking at Guwahati Railway station.

During checking at about 11.10 am they could notice 04 minor boys roaming on PF no-7 of Guwahati Railway Station in distressed condition. On further asking the boys stated that they have run away from their home to Guwahati by train without any intimation to their parents for searching job.

On further interrogation they disclosed their name and address. It was detected that three of the minors are from Begusarai and another from the Samastipur districts of Bihar. The rescued minor boys could not give any contact number of their parents or relatives. Thereafter the rescued boys were brought to  Guwahati and after observing all formalities the rescued minor boys were handed over to to Railway Childline Guwahati.

Acting in a tipoff RPF of Agartala alongwith GRP & SB of Tripura detained one lady with 16 pkts of Brown sugar on the evening of 21st January at Agartala Railway Station. She travelled by the Silchar- Agartala special. But her husband who had also accompanied her managed to flee. During interrogation it was revealed that, they have a good network in Myanmar – Manipur – Dimapur to Tripura & Mumbai. The market value of the recovered item is about Rs 6 lakh (Approx).
