The RPF arrested two touts and recovered Ganja from Agartala – New Delhi AC Train

Maligaon, Dec 04: The Railway Protection Force of the Northeastern frontier Railway conducted raid on 28.11.2020 acting on information regarding touting activities being done by a shop. The shop namely “Hansda Online Shop”, located at Topsahar village under Habibpur police station of  Malda District of West Bengal.

The shop owned by one Michael Hansda, aged 35 years the RPF Prahalad Sahay Meena, and B. K. Tiwary along with staff of RPF Post, Samsi conducted the raid and search at the said shop under the supervision of Mr. Vinit Kumar, and apprehended the owner of the shop with the recovery of five Railway E-tickets which were generated by using personal user ID’s.

Some electronic devices and documents like computer, mobile, Bank Pass Book etc used in the illegal business were also seized. Value of the recovered e-Tickets is Rs. 11,110.40. In this regard, a case has been registered at RPF Post, Samsi vide No. 85/2020 dated 28.11.2020 u/s 143 of Railways Act.

Again on 03.12.2020, a joint team from Alipurduar and New Coochbehar RPF posts conducted raid at a shop named Grahak Seva Kendra near Rail gate at Bamanhat. The owner of the shop namely Prasenjit Majumder age about 30 years of Cooch Behar was arrested along with recovery of 02 nos past railway e-tickets of value Rs. 1304.99.

The tickets were generated illegally by using personal user ID. 02 nos mobile phones were also seized from the accused. A case has been registered vide no. – 311/2020 dt 03.12.2020 u/s 143 of Railway Act.

In another incident on 01.12.2020, acting on information regarding carrying of narcotic items in train No. 02501 (Agartala – New Delhi AC Special), RPF team of Katihar comprising Inspector Anoop Tiwary and Constable Rakesh Kr. Singh conducted a joint raid with GRP/Katihar.

During the raid conducted in the said train at Katihar railway station, they recovered five plastic bags containing Ganja (weighing about 14.106 kgs) from coach no. B-2 & B-3 as unclaimed luggage. Value of the recovered Ganja is Rs. 2 lakhs approx.  The recovered Ganja was handed over to OC/GRPS/Katihar who registered a case vide No. 54/2020 dated 01.12.2020 u/s 08/20/22 of NDPS Act.
