The SPC expresses profound grief at the unfortunate passing away of Editor of Meghalaya Mr. L Morrow

Shillong, June 27: The Shillong Press Club expresses profound grief at the unfortunate passing away of yet another strong pillar of journalism of Meghalaya Bah L Morrow Mohon Kharpuri on June 26, 2020.

Born on January 1, 1939, Bah Morrow, as he was lovingly known by all, was dedicated to his newspaper as he waged challenge after challenge to publish it successfully. He went beyond the call of his newspaper by actively contributing to various publications over the years.

His devotion to the job led him to set up his own printing press at home where he published his newspaper and took up commercial printing works. Even till the end he continued pursuing what he loved most – his newspaper Ka Pyrthei Mynta and still wrote articles. For age was just a number.

As the senior most accredited journalist, Bah Morrow was humble enough to interact freely with all journalists be it old or young, fresh or seasoned. He gladly shared his vast experiences and knowledge with anyone with an ear to listen and a heart to learn. Even towards the sunset of his life he would always enquire about the wellbeing of Shillong Press Club which he held close to his heart.

In his passing away, the journalist fraternity has lost a great soul, learned journalist & scholar, humble personality and above all, a towering fatherly figure which will be very difficult to replace. May he rest in eternal peace with his Maker.

The Shillong Press Club with deep regret and sorrow conveys its sincerest condolences to the bereaved family members of (L) Bah Morrow. May God Almighty grant you solace during these darkest moments.
