This is an advisory if only vaccinated people can go to place of worship when reopen: M.S Rao

Shillong, August 12: The Chief Secretary of Meghalaya Mr. M S Rao said that the meeting that they had with the religious leaders is to finalize on the SOP for opening religious places, SOP for weeding and also to seek the support of all faith and institution in the vaccination effort of the government.

The Chief Secretary said that during the meeting it was discussed that it will be an advisory that will be better if only people who have vaccinated people can go to place of worship and only one third of the capacity of the religious place is allowed.

The Government is targeting to vaccinate all eligible people, for thus who are 18 plus will try to get 100% vaccination, but one of the input that they have, to have better reach it is better to open places of religious worship that will enable to have better information on the vaccination.

The Government got the information that 90% of the people are willing to get themselves vaccination, with the opening of   religious places will  help the government that they reach out to the congregation, if the place of worship are closed they will fine difficult since online media has its limitation.

The government expect with the opening of place of worship will help the effort of the vaccination process of the government, said the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya Mr. M S Rao talking to media after the meeting with the religious leaders today at Yojana Bhavan.

The religious leaders, Rev father Richard Majaw, Rev M.J Hynniewta and Secretary of Rama Krishan Mission Swami Hitakamananda, they have express their gratitude to the government for allowing reopening of the places of worship.
