To put presure on the Govt to restore 108 services at Nongtalang CHC JSU put up black flag at the gate

Jowai, June 4: The Jaintia Students Union – War Jaintia circle today leaded by the President of War Jaintia Circle, Mr. Eddy Kery Pohtam, the General Secretary Mr. Kerrydiam Lamin and Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Dewan Bareh as a sign of protest against the arrogant attitude of Government towards the demand of the union, have put up a black flag at the entry of Nongtalang CHC so as to pressure the Government to restore 108 Emergency Ambulance Service in the Amlarem Subdivision which would serve the people in transporting the patients towards the hospitals in presence of paramedics and other needed life support systems.

The union after the end of the 1 week ultimatum serve towards the government to restore 108 service since it stop service in the area since 2014 have taken the step towards protesting and it have threatened to come up with more sequence of protest up until Ambulance 108 service is available in the area.

The union have express resentment against this partial attitude of the government against the people of War Jaintia. It has question the government whether the COVID pandemic is only affecting Shillong and Garo Hills. The union has also question the MDA Government that if 108 Ambulance Service is present in all districts and CHCs, why Nongtalang CHC is left out.

The union lamented that that since the non existence of 108 Ambulance since 2014, it had resulted into a situation where many precious lives of their near and dear ones are lost. So the union is firm on its demand to immediately restore 108 services.
