Union Home Minister Mr. Amit assured to conduct CBI Inquiry on Mukroh firing Incident

Shillong, Nov 24: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma and it cabinet minister met the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah and in the meeting had brief on the unfortunate incident that took place at Mukroh Village in West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya where six precious lives was lost.

The Chief Minister said that they have explain and gave detail on the difference circumstance  that led to the incident as information received by the state government of Meghalaya and they have also seen the statement come from the Chief Minister of Assam.

That the entire shoot was unprovoked   and there was excess use of power by the police of Assam, and keeping that in mind they have requested the government of India to constitute central agency inquiry into this entire incident that took place, either through CBI, NIA or others agency so that the truth come out.

The Chief Minister said what more importantly action is taken against thus responsible for this in human act, the Union Home Minister has assured that he will constituted inquiry under central agency and the order should come out any time, the Chief Minister thank the union minster for positive respond.

The Chief Minister also shared with the Union Home Minister the root cause has to do along with long pending border issued between the two states Assam and Meghalaya, different incidents have led to the situation becoming more tense which ultimately led to the situation where the incident happened in Mukroh.

Therefore it is imperative that all efforts should be made to ensure that the border dispute is settled With the incident at Mukroh, the ongoing border talks with Assam has hit a hurdle and there is a lot of areas where trust has to be rebuilt and therefore the intervention of GoI is necessary to this end.

Also discussed about the safety and security of the people in the border area especially in sensitive and disputed zones and they  urge GoI to initiate a process for both State Governments  come together to ensure such incidents do not reoccur in the future.

Stressed to  Union Home Minister  for the support of GoI to ensure that basic supply of essential commodities should not be disrupted and for cooperation of neighbouring states for the same.

Discussions also held on other matters like the demand for inclusion of Khasi and  Garo languages in the VIII Schedule, implementation of ILP and  to allow the Government  to go ahead with the MRSSA.
