Tura, May 11: Five devil worshippers were released on bail today.
They were arrested yesterday from Upper Chandmari locality here at around 10:30 pm. They are resident of Ringre Gittim locality.
All the boys are above 18 years. Police have recovered a small quantity of ganja from their possession and a cross.
West Garo Hills SP, Mukesh Singh said, “They were hanging around, when police conducted the patrolling based on an FIR filed by graveyard secretary Nikhil T. Sangma of Upper Chandmari. Since deputy commissioner has banned devil worship, we arrested the youths. They have violated magisterial order”.
A case under section 188 (violation of magistrate/court order) has been registered against the worshippers. “The worshippers are students of Class X and XII. They were standing and praying”, said Singh.
They had tattoos painted on their body, which looks like a satanic image. They also have a unique parallel line on their stomach.(SP News)
