Shillong, March 4: A delegation of eighteen members from Jaintia Hills District left for Delhi on Monday to participate at the three day traditional dancing competition organised as part of the International Women’s Day clebration.
The eighteen members included young men and women from Jaintia Hills District. The delegation was led by Escorting Officer Bobby Wahlang. The eigtheen member will display the plate dance (Shad Pliang) which is one of the famous dance of the Jaintia’s at a three day function which will kick started from March 8 to 10 which wa organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA),New Delhi.
Other programmes Exhibitions, Women Craftsmen Workshop cum Demonstration, Panel Discussion besides others will also be organised.(SP News)
