Shillong, Feb 19: A group of hundred boys and girls from the state will participate at the three-day Assam North East Youth Festival sponsored by the union government through the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with the support of the Assam government held at Guwahati.
Under the leadership of State Escorting Officers, Bobby Wahlang and KR Nongbri, the group left Shillong on Tuesday to particiapte at the three-day programme which is an endeavour of the Assam government to unify and bring all the youth of the north eastern states under one roof.
The youth of the state will be participating in various competitive events including folk dance, folk songs, rock band, photography and others.
The programmes that these youth will experience will include youth convention and seminar, life skill development besides others wherein resource persons from Delhi, Chennai and others from other parts of the country will attend the programmes to impart trainings to the young guns.
The funds for the journey and preparation of the youth who are taking part in this festival is being sponsored by the state sports and youth affairs in order to open up opportunities for the youth to showcase and highlight their talents.(SP News)
