Shillong,Nov,10:A three day Group commanders conference of National Cadet Corps Directorate North Eastern region commenced today and will continued to 13 of this month. The conference is being chaired by Major General RK Sharma, Additional Director General NCC, NER. Eight Group Commanders of NCC Directorate, NER are participating in the conference. These Group Commanders are responsible for the NCC activities of their state.
The issues concerning the social and training activities carried out by the organisation to motivate the cadets of NCC in NE States are being discussed in the conference. Deliberation will take place on the Republic Day 2014 Contingent preparation showcasing the social and cultural panorama of the seven states.
Other subjects being discussed in the conference will be Increase in enrolment of cadets including girl cadets to widen the coverage of NCC in all districts of seven states , review of suggestions given by the cadets on training based on a existing continuous system to make it more meaningful and interesting. Also NCC will be introduced as an elective subject in all schools and colleges from next academic session.(SP News)
