Shillong, July 17: A Large Army Recruitment Rally will be held at Polo Ground Shillong from 20 to 28 July 2013. This is for the first time in more than 5 years that Army recruitment rally is being held at Shillong. It is a great employment opportunity for the youth of Meghalaya to join the Indian Army. The Indian Army through HQ Recruiting Zone (NE States) Shillong is continuing its role to provide quality employment to the youth of North East. The rally is being held for All the eleven districts of Meghalaya It is primarily for the youth of Meghalaya, and three districts of Assam can attend the recruitment rally. On 20 and 21 July 2013, the rally will be open to candidates from districts of Meghalaya. On 22 and 23 July 2013, the rally will be open to candidates from Assam. A large number of vacancies are available for various trades in the Army. On 24 July the rally will be for all states of North East India. Aptitude test will be held on 25 and written test on 28 of July.
The Common Entrance Examination for candidates meeting the physical and medical criterion will be held later. Candidates who wish to join the Indian Army should carry their mandatory Certificates like Permanent Residence / Nativity, Educational, Caste, NCC, Sports, etc (all in triplicate and attested) and ten coloured passport photos – light blue or white background. The candidates must reach the venue at 5 am. The Army Recruitment Offices should be contacted for other eligibility criterion and complete list of documents to be carried. These are also displayed on posters. NO fake documents should be produced. Before recruitment, all documents are verified through concerned authorities. Candidates who submit fake documents are liable to be prosecuted in addition to their not being recruited.
Recruitment in the Indian Army is through an open, fair and transparent system with large number of checks and balances. Recruitment in the Indian Army has been completely computerised with extensive use of proprietary software, biometric systems and optical mark readers. NO one can influence the recruitment process. Candidates are advised not to fall prey to touts who dupe candidates without being able to assist them in any way. Candidates should rely on their own ability, competence and education.
