Aide Et Action in association with DSYA Meghalaya organized Run for Inclusion in Shillong

Shillong, Dec 21: Today  a Charity Run titled Run for Inclusion was organized in Shillong. The Run was organized in 50 cities across India, Nepal & Sri Lanka also. The total number of runners in these cities is above 1 lakh. The Run in Shillong flagged off by the son of the soil Mr.Torak Kharpran, who have earned fame in the National Level Boxing from Fire Brigade Ground at 8:00 AM. Almost 800 runners participated in the Run here. The Runners covered a distance of 5 km upto Polo Parking Lot via Dhankheti, Barik, IGP, DC office, Governor’s House, Wards Lake, CM’s House(New) and Polo Towers.

Aide Et Action organized the Run for Inclusion with the believe that Individuals must be treated with equal dignity and fairness. And yet a journey, its societies and nations, is all it takes to convince that still there is a very long way to go and it is an expression that together all can participate in the virtual race to encourage the solidarity worldwide. In order to ensure a sustainable and dignified reintegration of the excluded population, there has to be an uprising against all forms of exclusion in education. The Run will encourage solidarity and will show support in the empowerment of excluded section of society.

The runners were from different backgrounds and from different strata. Largely the participants were from Schools, Colleges, Unions, Youths, Locality wings, Athletes, Corporates, Government departments, NGOs, Celebrities, and other related bodies.

The Run was sponsored by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Meghalaya. The Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Meghalaya and Shillong Press Club supported the event in Publicity and reaching out to the masses; and Bharat Scouts & Guide provided volunteer support. EMRI assisted in arranging for emergency medical support during the event.(SP News)
